Update

So much has been going on lately. The most excited news is we switched the girls school. They were going to a charter school. KJ started last year in first grade and RM started this year in Kindergarten. There were many good things about the school, but we just got to the point where we were all exhausted with it. The school day is an extended day, starting at 7:45am until 3:45pm. And the work load was a lot. RM's homework was very appropriate, but KJ always had so much homework and assignments she had to finish at home because she didn't finish them at school. We would work most of the evening on her spelling, reading and other assignments. It became too much of a battle with her and I really don't think it was worth it. Who cares if she learns her multiplication in second grade or third grade! My kids were always tired and stressed out and I couldn't keep up with it anymore, so we are headed back to the public school. It was extremely hard to leave the kids' teachers. I really love both of their teachers and we will miss them a lot. We tried to make it to the end of the school year, but we ran out of gas.
Anyway, so that is the big going-on around here. We also got a new mini-van--very exciting! It has a dvd player, so I am ready for a fun road trip! Monkey has started laughing a lot. That is so fun, we are all always trying to find new ways to get him to laugh. He really thinks it is funny when I touch his toes to his nose and when I sing silly songs. His favorite song of late is "The More We Get Together". He had his 4 month check up last week and the doctor said he is bigger than most 6 month-olds. He is a big guy--and so fun to squeeze! Some day I will post pictures!

Your kids are going to love being back! I know my kids are enjoying school so much more and seem so much happier.
