I trust everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July holiday. We had a great weekend. It started off with Thomas having Friday off work, which was great on its own! I don't even remember what we did during the day, but I love it when he is home. Then that night we went to a pool party at my parents house. Of course, the girls had a blast and we ate some scrumdiddilyumpsious ribs cooked by my brother. Thanks, Mikey!
Saturday morning I asked the girls if they wanted to go to the parade or Home Depot kids workshop. No surprise, they chose Home Depot because afterward they get a hot dog. According to the girls they are the best hot dogs in the world. Then, that night we weren't sure where we would go for fireworks. Last year we went to the lake, but it was so crowded we couldn't find a place to park so we drove around the lake. It was so beautiful because the fireworks reflected off the lake. So we thought we would try that out, but when we got there they had put up temporary fences on all the grass. We were early but there was still no place to park.
Lucky for us the Rangers were playing and we live pretty close to the Ballpark. So we had the brilliant idea to go home and park the car and walk to the Ballpark to wait for the fireworks that they shoot off after the game. We loaded two kids in the wagon and two kids in the stroller and off we went into the dark night. It was a little bit further walking than I would have expected, a mile and a half one-way. We had to parade ourselves in front of traffic and cross over the freeway on an overpass bridge (There is a place for pedestrians, don't worry). I kept chuckling to myself because I am sure we were a sight to behold, taking our kids out in the dark, crossing freeways, up and down hills. It ended up being a lot of fun and the girls had a blast. Rex did too for that matter. Wish I got a picture, but my battery had died, so I will leave it up to your imagination.

This last picture is just because I can't figure out what it is about kids, spoons, and digging in the dirt in the back yard. I remember doing it and loving it, but I can't remember why. Maybe there is no why, it is just something kids love to do for no good reason.
