The next messiest thing I can imagine is re-texturing the ceilings. My parents came and helped...um, let me reword that...they put up the plastic on the walls while I, um, supervised! Then my brother came over and textured the ceilings and half the kitchen walls. He did an outstanding job and it looks so great! Then the next night my dad came over with his power roller and primed the living room ceiling. And, throughout all of this I managed to single handedly paint the office a lovely Gobi Desert color.
We still have a lot to go, but it is already looking so wonderful and more like a comfortable home instead of a shell we live in. I am really so grateful to both of our families and all the help and hard work that have given to help us in our efforts!
Here are a few pictures. I wish we would have taken some pictures of the scraping of the ceilings.
This is the living room draped in plastic.
The kitchen ready to be textured.
And here is the ceiling after texture and primer...SANS styrofoam beams! Hurray!
I know you can't tell much without before pictures, but trust me, things are looking great! Last picture is my lovely Gobi Desert office! And, also in the picture is my Dad's scaffolding for painting. It really made painting so enjoyable to not have to climb down a ladder every two feet to either move it or re-fill my roller! PS, it looks like a sickly color online, but it is really a soft tan, maybe the color of the sand in the Gobi Desert, wherever that may be!
Well, there you have it. This is not even including all the other things I am in the middle of, like getting ready for Rex to come, taking care of the girls, primary, sewing... I have no idea why we waiting until three weeks before the baby comes to do all of this, but I would rather do it before than after! Tomorrow I will have to post about my beautiful girls, they are doing so well in school and all!

Our living room color is Gobi Desert. It's looking good, Kristy! We need to come by and see it in person. Won't you be glad when the projects are all over?
