Little Baby Grain of Rice

I had my first doctor's appointment yesterday. He did a sonogram and I could see the tiny flutter of our baby's developing heart. It was just so adorable! Here is a picture. The baby is the little white spot in the dark circle. The doctor said the baby is in the right spot and the yolk sak has formed just as it should and that the baby was about the size of half a grain of rice.

I will not be surprised if at 20 weeks we find out we are having another girl. When I was on my mission my companion, Hermana Arbizu, and I were teaching a mother and son. We were talking about children and I said I don't want girls, I want boys. (That is what I thought at the time because I grew up with all brothers, so I thought I wanted all boys.) Well, the verb for want is "querer", which is also a verb that means "love". Well, I said, "No quiero ninas" when I should have said "No quiero tener ninas". I was with all native speakers. The mother and son we were teaching just laughed, but my companion got very upset at me because she thought I was saying I don't love little girls and that is not setting a good example as a missionary. The mother told me that because I said that, I was going to have all girls. She was teasing, but it is turning out to be true. But in all honesty, it is perfectly fine with me because little girls are so much fun and when they are teenagers, I think they might be less destructive. Plus, I don't think I would know what to do with a boy anyway!

The only hard part is deciding on another girl name. KJ desperately wants us to name her Lexie if it is a girl. I really want Daphne. But Thomas has vetoed both of those names, so we just need to keep thinking. If it is a boy I am so set on the name Rex. Thomas will really have to work some wonders to get me to change my mind on that one! I would really love to have the middle name be Eldredge, but I think I can be flexible.

Oh well, we have about 14 more weeks until we can find out what our lil punkin will be!
